Howdy, fellow Frogpanters. Scott here, for a quick newsletter update. Been quite the week around here. Rock Runners Incorporated was successfully kickstarted, and as a result, the month of May is WALL TO WALL CRAZY FOR ME! But totally worth it, and huge thanks to all who helped support the project. Can’t wait to get it in your hands! All signs point to shipping in June!
While that was going on, I quietly soft-launched a new show called “Was It Any Good” on all the podcast platforms. The show is just me, watching in real-time something that everyone thought was great at the time of it’s original airing, and trying to find out if it holds up or not. Short 30 min episodes, once a week.
There are already two up, the first with me hitting a controversial episode of The Jeffersons, and the other being the top ranked episode of I Love Lucy. Great, but ‘were they any good'?’ ;) The format of the show is hard to explain in text, so I hope you will give it a listen and see what it’s all about.
Here’s what’s going on around the rest of Frogpants this week!
The Morning Stream! (featuring a killer Wendi segment yesterday)
The BOOP Show, with a couple great new indies and the return of indie news!
SKIM: Where Scott and Kim try and make sense of a trip to the dog park.
CORE: Featuring a deep and thoughtful dive into the state of all things Blizzard, as well as a look at today’s release of Resident Evil 8! (And much more)
There Will Be Dungeons continued its new season of the ‘Delvers’ story, with guest player Beau Schwartz! D&D has never been this fun before!
Film Sack had a GREAT time with the much maligned 90’s sci-fi attempt, ‘Space Truckers’. We had a blast with this one, and think this episode is a must listen!
That’s just a few things going on as you can see. And because someone bought a copy of RE8 for me to play on livestream, I thought I would take this chance to remind you of why I am terrified of these games. Here’s a video compilation of my play-through of Resident Evil 7 a year or two back. You can see why this is gonna be interesting.
See you all soon! - Scott
I happened to catch the inaugural episode of Was it Any Good, and thoroughly enjoyed it. That episode of "The Jeffersons" was incredibly timely. I also love that it's 30-minutes or so (especially since I enjoy/watch so much of your shows, lol).
